Cherie Currie with opener Shameless to tour Europe this summer

The Runaways lead vocalist Cherie Currie will be embarking on a tour of select countries in Europe this summer and she will have Shameless featuring bassist Alexx Michael and Tuff frontman Stevie Rachelle as the special guest.

Currie handled the lead vocals for The Runaways (which also featured Joan Jett and Lita Ford) from 1975 to 1977 during which time the band released the albums The Runaways (1976), Queens of Noise (1977) and Live In Japan (1977).

Shameless‘ “Bio” on their website indicates in part: “Shameless are a hard rock glam band formed in the Spring of 1989 by bassist Alexx “Skunk” Michael in Munich, Germany. After a breakup, Michael decided to reform Shameless in 1998 with his friend and guitar player BC. Alexx enlisted help from drummer Eric Singer (KISS, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath), who’s introduction to Steve “Sex” Summers (Pretty Boy Floyd) and Stevie Rachelle (Tuff) started a long lasting musical relationship. Since then, the international outfit has released 7 full-length albums, 1 live record, 2 compilations. Previous releases feature guest appearances from members of KISS, Warrant, Guns N Roses, LA Guns, WASP, Motley Crue, The Runaways & Stryper.”
