Now, as for my broadcast career, well in over 30 years, I’ve “been there, done that!”
After six years WORKING at a mental health facility in Michigan, I started this broadcast career with training at the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts, Detroit, Michigan in 1995. My first gig was in small-market radio, WABJ/WTQE, Adrian, Michigan. Then I moved up the radio dial to Lansing, Michigan on WJXQ, a 50,000 watt rocker for overnights, then “Mornings with Ron & Laura.” I took a leap of faith and relocated to Charleston, WV for a Contemporary Hit Radio (CHR) / Production Director gig for a few years, then back to Album Oriented Rock (AOR) with WKLC, ROCK 105 in Charleston/Huntington, WV. That’s back in the day when FOX TV was just getting started and needed a Production Voice, so I applied and got the job…one I still hold today, 30 years later, voicing TV ads nearly every day!
I took a break from radio for about a year, but after relocating to Columbus, OH I eventually discovered and fell in love with the Smooth Jazz format in Columbus, Ohio and became the evening announcer/ Production Director for WJZA/WJZK, Smooth Jazz 103.5 / 104.3.
Along the way, I developed skills in creative copy writing, voice acting, audio post-production, live event MC, and have voiced and produced thousands of radio & TV commercials for worldwide clients throughout a 30+ year career.
I’m now the owner of BIG VOICE Productions, Inc., (www.bigvoiceproductionsOH.COM) where I coach other aspiring Voice Actors in private lessons, in-studio and on-line. I’m an international Voice Over talent with clients in Peru, Spain, throughout the U.S., and I’m a nationally known Voice Over Coach, having trained over 600 students in the art and business of Voice Over since 1998.

In my younger days, I have also appeared as a model in print ads, runway fashion shows, and as an on-camera actor playing extra parts in TV spots for Facebook, Bob Evans, AEP, Value City Furniture, and one major motion picture with Michael Douglas in the movie, Traffic!
Based in Columbus, Ohio, I am currently the Morning Host on WSBZ, Smooth Jazz 106.3 FM, The Seabreeze, Destin, Fl. and now hosts Afternoons, 2-6p, Weekdays, here on MyRetroRadio.com.
