Riley’s L.A. Guns frontman Kurt Frohlich was recently interviewee by Mick Michaels for The Cosmick View. Frohlich was promoting his upcoming solo album 1977, which will be released via Golden Robot Records. The first single “I Don’t Want It” will be available on February 16, 2024.

Last month, Riley’s L.A. Guns released their sophomore album The Dark Horse on the birthday (January 22nd) of their deceased band leader and drummer Steve Riley who passed away back on October 24, 2023. Prior to Riley passing away, Riley’s L.A. Guns had one show scheduled at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA on January 20, 2024, which they ended up honouring. Matt Bloodwell ended up joining Frohlich, bassist Kelly Nickels and guitarist Scott Griffin at that show and filling in for Riley on the drums.

Frohlich was asked how he sees Riley‘s legacy living on and how he’ll remember him to which he replied: “We are taking it day by day. We had one last show on the books which we were up the air about. We tallied with Steve’s wife Mary and she gave us her and her son Cole’s blessing to do the show. We all thought Steve would have wanted us to do it. We dedicated it to Steve and made it a tribute to him. It was tough him not being there but I think it went well, mainly due to the support and understanding from our fans. Steve is a rock and roll legend. He worked his ass off and loved playing the drums. He had no ego whatsoever and treated everyone with respect and equality. I never heard him talk bad about anyone and that’s the reputation he left after he passed. I miss him.”
