Post Malone Teases Morgan Wallen Collaboration Ahead of Stagecoach

Both artists are on the bill for the California country music festival taking place this weekend, but the long-teased song has yet to be released

Coachella cleared out of Indio, California’s Empire Polo Fields, after two music-filled weekends so that the country festival Stagecoach could take over the grounds. The bill for this weekend’s event is stacked with generation-spanning performers, but two in particular seem to be cooking something up for the occasion. Just before opening night, Post Malone shared a snippet teaser of a potential collaboration with Morgan Wallen. Both artists are scheduled to appear at Stagecoach on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

“They say teamwork makes the dream work,” Malone wrote in the caption of a TikTok teasing the song. He tagged Wallen, who is set to headline to festival on Sunday. The quote refers to the lyrics featured in what sounds like an upbeat country chorus on the song, which fans have been referring to as “I Had Some Help.”

“It ain’t like I can make this kind of mess all by myself/Don’t act like you ain’t helped me pull that bottle off the shelf/Been deep in every weekend, if you couldn’t tell,” Malone sings in the snippet. “They say teamwork makes the dream work/Hell, I had some help.”

The first teaser for the song arrived a month ago via Instagram, where Malone captioned a clip of himself listening to the song with: “Let’s go with the real mix this time @morganwallen.”

Malone previously appeared alongside Wallen in a tribute performance to Joe Diffie at the 2023 CMA Awards. In 2022, he discussed the possibility of a country pivot in an interview with Howard Stern. “To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album and putting it on fucking YouTube,” he said. “Maybe I’ll face some repercussions afterward from the label and shit, but there’s nothing stopping me from doing that. I’m allowed to do that.”

Last month, Malone appeared alongside Beyoncé on her own country opus, Cowboy Carter. The singer is featured on the denim and rhinestone-studded love song “Levii’s Jeans.”
