Drake Announces IMAX Release for “Nokia” Video

Drake has announced the release date for his anticipated “Nokia” video, which will be available on March 31. The artist, also known as the 6 God, shared a teaser for the video on Tuesday, March 25. The visual, directed by Theo Skudra, was shot for IMAX.

The teaser, captioned “NOKIA March 31st Directed by Theo $$$kudra Filmed for IMAX,” invites viewers into the OVO IMAX universe, transforming the “A” into the brand’s signature owl logo.

Shooting in IMAX is a costly endeavor, but it appears to be within Drake’s budget. “Shooting this in IMAX is insane. It’s $2,000 per minute to develop the film,” producer BNYX commented on Instagram.

A fan humorously added, “Bro really said Anita Max Resolution!”

Produced by Elkan, “Nokia” slipped from No. 8 to No. 11 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100. The track is part of Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s joint album “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 in February. The duo has three other songs on the Hot 100: “Die Trying” (No. 76), “Gimme a Hug” (No. 78), and “Somebody Loves Me” (No. 83).

While Drake’s next move remains uncertain, he has hinted that his solo LP is on his agenda. He is also scheduled to headline all three nights of the Wireless Festival in London from July 11 to July 13.
