The iconic ’90s rock band 4 Non Blondes, best known for their smash hit “What’s Up?”, will reunite for their first official performance in three decades at BottleRock Napa Valley 2025. Vocalist Linda Perry recently shared the news on The Allison Hagendorf Show, revealing how she had been manifesting the reunion for some time.
“It just feels like the right time,” Perry said, reflecting on the decision. “I’ve been putting that energy out because I want 2025 to be my year. I feel like I’ve been planting seeds everywhere, and now I’m watching my little trees grow.”
Perry explained that the reunion gained momentum after an offer came in for BottleRock. “We got this offer, and I thought, ‘Okay, I knew this was coming,’” she recalled. “I told the universe I wanted this, and now it’s happening.”
From there, Perry reached out to the other members of the band, despite not being in regular contact with them. “I called them one by one and said, ‘Hey, how do you feel about this?’” she shared. “They were excited, so I’m heading to San Francisco to rehearse with them. We’re just going to hang out, jam, and see how it feels—no big plan, just going with the flow.”
For Perry, the reunion has sparked thoughts about revisiting the band’s unreleased work. “There’s a second 4 Non Blondes record that was recorded,” she teased. “It was pretty decent, but I just couldn’t do it at the time. My heart wasn’t in it.”
She revealed that the band’s breakup in late 1994 stemmed from personal struggles. “I was in a really bad space back then. My feelings got hurt so easily, and I didn’t know how to cope. So I left the band.”
4 Non Blondes briefly reunited in 2014 for a charity concert in Los Angeles, but this upcoming performance marks their first full-scale reunion.
BottleRock Napa Valley 2025 will take place from May 23rd to 25th, headlined by Green Day, Justin Timberlake, and Noah Kahan. Other notable acts include Cage the Elephant, Sublime, Khruangbin, and Goose, along with the highly anticipated return of 4 Non Blondes.
