ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ “APT.” Joins BTS’ “Dynamite” in K-pop Chart Milestone

ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ “APT.” has joined BTS’ “Dynamite” as the only songs by K-pop acts to reach the top five on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart.

“APT.” climbs two spots to No. 5 on the Jan. 18-dated Pop Airplay chart. BTS’ “Dynamite” previously peaked at No. 5 in December 2020.

This marks ROSÉ’s first entry on the Pop Airplay chart as a solo artist. As a member of BLACKPINK, she has charted two tracks on the tally, with the group reaching a No. 21 peak.

The Pop Airplay chart ranks songs based on weekly plays across more than 150 mainstream Top 40 radio stations monitored by Mediabase. Billboard receives data for the chart from Luminate.

Only five K-pop hits have reached the Pop Airplay top 10. Here’s the full list:

  • No. 5, “APT.,” ROSÉ & Bruno Mars, Jan. 18, 2025

  • No. 10, “Gangnam Style,” PSY, Oct. 27, 2012

Of these, only “APT.” and “Gangnam Style” are credited to solo artists.

KMVQ (99.7 Now) in San Francisco leads all reporting stations with over 1,300 plays of “APT.” since its Oct. 18, 2024, release. Other major stations giving the song significant airplay include WHTZ (Z100) New York, KIIS (102.7 KIIS-FM) Los Angeles, and SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio.

“APT.” is from ROSÉ’s debut solo album, Rosie, her first project apart from BLACKPINK. The song concurrently leads the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts for an 11th week each. On the Billboard Hot 100, “APT.” remains at its No. 5 peak, making ROSÉ the first female K-pop artist to break into the chart’s top five.
