Marc Badain Appointed Oakland Athletics President to Lead Las Vegas Transition

Marc Badain has been appointed as the president of the Oakland Athletics, a move announced by the team. Badain, who has an extensive background with the Las Vegas Raiders, where he worked for three decades including six years as president, is transitioning from his role at Oak View Group. During his tenure with the Raiders, he played a pivotal role in relocating the team to Las Vegas and the construction of Allegiant Stadium.

John Fisher, the owner of the Athletics, expressed enthusiasm about Badain’s appointment, citing his successful track record with transformative projects. Badain’s leadership is expected to be instrumental as the A’s aim to establish a future in Southern Nevada.

The Athletics are planning a move to a new $1.75 billion ballpark in Las Vegas by the 2028 MLB season, following their interim play at a minor league stadium in Sacramento. Badain’s hiring comes at a crucial juncture as the team navigates this relocation and development process.
