Victoria Goodwin, a 32-year-old woman from Las Vegas, has been arrested and charged with conspiracy and solicitation to commit murder. Her arrest followed an investigation that began in October when a contraband cellphone was seized from Grant Amato, an inmate at the Okeechobee Correctional Institution in Florida. Authorities discovered messages on the phone detailing an alleged murder-for-hire plot involving Goodwin and Amato.
According to police, the messages revealed discussions about using payment platforms like PayPal or CashApp for transactions. Amato reportedly requested $2,500 to be sent to a PayPal account, with a total of $11,515 set aside for an individual named Gordo, who was allegedly tasked with carrying out the plan.
The arrest report states that Goodwin, using the alias Victoria Candie, provided her husband’s location through a location-sharing application. At one point, Goodwin questioned if she was “a bad person” for contemplating the plot instead of opting for a divorce.
In a post-arrest interview, Goodwin described feelings of loneliness and admitted to fantasizing about being romantically involved with Amato, though she denied wanting her husband, Aaron Goodwin, a television star from the series “Ghost Adventures,” to be killed.
Victoria Goodwin is currently being held on a $100,000 bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
