Tony Stewart Clinches First NHRA Top Fuel Victory at Las Vegas Nationals

Tony Stewart has added another impressive achievement to his already illustrious racing career by securing his first victory in the top class of NHRA drag racing. At the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas, Stewart claimed the Top Fuel final with a time of 3.870 seconds at 317.42 mph, edging out competitors Antron Brown, Justin Ashley, and Jasmine Salinas. This win marks a significant milestone for Stewart, who has been involved in NHRA racing for about five years.

Stewart, a renowned figure in motorsports with three NASCAR Cup Series championships, an Indy Car Series championship, and multiple United States Auto Club titles, has now triumphed in drag racing as well. His previous victories span across various tracks, including go-kart, short, and dirt tracks nationwide. Notably, Stewart has won at all the tracks on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway property, showcasing his versatility and skill across different racing disciplines.

The victory was deeply personal for Stewart, as he celebrated with his wife, Leah Pruett, and their son, Dominic, marking the first time he experienced such a moment with his family present. Stewart, who transitioned to Top Fuel in 2024, finished second in the Top Fuel standings, just 16 points shy of leader Shawn Langdon.

In other results from the event, Austin Prock, the defending Funny Car world champion, secured a win in the Funny Car final. Dallas Glenn emerged victorious in the Pro Stock category, while Maddi Gordon won the Top Alcohol Funny Car final, marking her second national series win in that class. Gordon, who became the 100th woman to win an NHRA event last year, is set to move to Top Fuel in 2026.
