This burger, featuring a grilled quarter-pound beef patty with toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and mustard, was served by Becky Gonzalez, who was on duty at the time. Gonzalez shared the encounter on TikTok, mentioning how her coworker recognized Strait at the drive-thru. Despite wanting to ask him to sing, she refrained but managed to get a selfie with the country music icon.
Strait, known for being one of the most recognizable figures in Texas, was driving a black truck and wore a tropical-themed baseball cap and sunglasses. Gonzalez described him as kind and handsome, joking about her temptation to jump through the window for a hug but deciding against it. The encounter happened as Strait prepared for an upcoming short stadium tour, which includes venues in the northeast and concludes at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. With no Texas dates on his tour, Strait will have to wait until he’s back home to enjoy another Dairy Queen meal.
