Megan Thee Stallion has achieved another legal success in her ongoing dispute with Tory Lanez. Recently, her legal team submitted a motion requesting a federal court to hold Lanez in contempt due to his alleged “disruptive [and] inflammatory” behavior during a deposition conducted while he is incarcerated.
The deposition is part of Megan’s defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz, whom she accuses of disseminating false information about her online on behalf of Lanez.
According to Megan’s legal team, “Mr. Peterson directed petty, misogynistic remarks at Ms. Pete’s counsel regarding her hair color and appearance—acts of pure harassment meant to belittle rather than address the questions.” They further claimed that Lanez feigned ignorance of simple terms like “discuss” and “approve.” By Thursday, April 17, Judge Cecilia Altonaga had approved the motion, and reports indicate that Lanez has been informed he must respond to the sanctions request by April 30.
In addition to this legal win, Megan Thee Stallion has been receiving widespread acclaim for her Coachella performance. Last month, she also achieved another legal triumph when Plies filed a motion to dismiss his lawsuit against her, GloRilla, Cardi B, and Soulja Boy. The lawsuit, filed in November, concerned an alleged uncleared sample of Plies’ song “Me & My Goons” in Meg and GloRilla’s track “Wanna Be.” Plies opted to drop the case “without prejudice,” allowing him the option to refile in the future if he chooses.
