Eric Martin, the vocalist of the rock band MR. BIG, famous for the global hit “TO BE WITH YOU,” is set to hold a live concert where he will perform all of MR. BIG’s songs. He will be joined by a band led by young Japanese guitarist Li-sa-X, a protégé of MR. BIG’s guitarist Paul Gilbert. This event is a collaboration between Eric and the “Voice of Youth JAPAN” (VoYJ) project, where he will perform exclusively MR. BIG songs with young Japanese artists.
The VoYJ project, led by UNiTe at the University of Tokyo, seeks to create a platform for young people to express themselves and work towards a world where “no one is left behind,” aligning with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Eric Martin, who supports this initiative, participated in recording and released the charity single “I’ll be there just for you.” Upon the single’s release, Eric stated, “If I can touch someone’s heart with my voice, that would be the happiest thing. I put all my love into it.” During his visit to Japan, he will also perform the popular cover series “MR. VOCALIST” live for the first time in 15 years.
In February 2025, MR. BIG will conduct “MR. BIG THE BIG FINAL! FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS,” the final tour in Japan, taking place in Tokyo and Osaka. Eric Martin commented on the “BIG Night (featuring Li-sa-X)” event for Voice Of Youth Japan: “Dear friends in Japan! How are you all? Are you ready for the winter holidays? How about doing one more fun thing in December? I have an idea. I’ll do a show called BIG Night where I’ll perform all my favorite MR. BIG songs with some incredibly talented rock musicians!” Advance reservations for this show will begin today at 6:00 PM for members of Eric Martin’s official Japanese fan club.
