Hot 10 Recap – Week of 11/30

With Thanksgiving in the books, we focus on Christmas. But before Mariah hits number 1, we have some history to make. This is the Hot 10 recap of the Billboard Hot 100 survey for the week of 11/30.

Morgan Wallen stays at 10 with Love Somebody. Can you believe that he almost went into pro baseball? That was until an injury led him to music instead.

Benson Boone keeps the number 9 spot with Beautiful Things. Boone often describes his music as a personal diary, with “Beautiful Things” being an open acknowledgment of vulnerability and gratitude, themes that have earned him a loyal fanbase.

Sabrina stays at 8 with Taste. The line, “You’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissin’ you,” embodies the track’s confident and sassy tone. Fun fact: the music video, directed by Dave Meyers, features actress Jenna Ortega, adding another layer of intrigue to the release.

Post Malone and Wallen keep I Had Some Help, at number 7. Interestingly, the song draws melodic inspiration from Tom Petty’s “Learning to Fly”—a detail that has sparked some discussion among fans. Shout out to our friends at Roadhouse Rock for that one!

Gracie Abrams keeps the number 6 spot on the survey with That’s So True. I just can’t believe she’s the daughter of the legendary filmmaker J.J. Abrams. Must be creativity runs strong in the family.

The first of two songs moving this week starts with Sabrina’s Espresso dropping to 5. Now listen, she’s not just a double threat in the Hot 10, but practically a board game champion—she’s super into them! We should challenge her to a game of Monopoly.

This leaves last week’s number 5 song, Lose Control to move Teddy Swims to number 4. Now despite his solo career, Teddy insisted on keeping his original band, Elefvnts, by his side, proving that success is sweeter when shared with lifelong friends.

The top three songs begin once again with Billie Eilish and Birds of a Feather at number three. Many people don’t realize that she’s a die-hard fan of “The Office,” that she’s watched the entire series over ten times. And here’s a twist—her obsession with the show is so deep she even sampled dialogue from it in one of her songs, featuring clips from the “Threat Level Midnight” episode.

Die with a Smile keeps Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars in the number two spot. Songwriter Andrew Watt wanted to capture both their signature styles of soul and pop. Reminding us to cherish every moment of love as if it were the last, with the unforgettable refrain, “If the world was ending, I’d wanna be next to you”

At the top of the charts for a record 19th week is Shaboozey with A Bar Song (Tipsy). As it currently sits, it is tied with Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ 2019 number one, Old Town Road which spent 19 weeks at number one.

So will there be 20 weeks of Shaboozey at the top? Or will Mariah Carey take number 1 for the fifth year straight? Tune in next Monday at 9a to find out.
