King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard recently partnered with the Songs for Kids Band for a heartwarming rendition of their 2024 song “Flight b741.”
The performance took place at the iconic Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta as part of the fourth episode of The Songs for Kids “Young” Series. Organized by Songs for Kids, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the series highlights the power of music to connect and inspire. The organization provides music mentorship and programs for kids, teens, and young adults (up to age 39) with disabilities, illnesses, and injuries. Their resident group, The Songs for Kids Band, is made up of program participants and aims to foster teamwork and mutual support among individuals who might otherwise face solitary challenges.
The collaboration was a perfect match for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, a six-piece Australian band renowned for their dynamic teamwork and boundless creativity. Performing alongside the Songs for Kids Band, they delivered an electrifying rendition of Flight b741‘s title track, featuring vibrant vocals, energetic dance moves, and a rock-filled atmosphere. The performance radiated joy and demonstrated the unifying power of music. You can watch the inspiring collaboration below and learn more about the Songs for Kids foundation here.
While King Gizzard is still riding high on the success of Flight b741, their 26th studio album, they’re already gearing up for their next project. In October, the band debuted the first single from their forthcoming album, “Phantom Island,” and announced a 2025 orchestral tour across the United States.
