Mayday Parade is celebrating their 20th anniversary with an ambitious three-part album that reflects their journey as a band. The first installment, Sweet, is set to release on April 18 via Many Hat Endeavors.
“Being a band for 20 years feels monumental, and we wanted to create something equally significant,” shares frontman Derek Sanders. “It’s both a challenge and an exciting step forward for us. Our goal is to take everything we’ve learned over the years and channel it into this ambitious project. We’re incredibly grateful for the chance to keep making music and can’t wait to share Sweet — Part 1 of the album — with everyone.”
Produced by longtime collaborators Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, the record features last year’s track “Pretty Good to Feel Something” alongside the heartfelt new single “By The Way.” Reflecting on the latter, Sanders explains, “Sometimes you feel like you’re on the right path, and other times you feel like you’re just circling around what you should be doing. This song feels like a step in the right direction. It’s about trying to stay hopeful as everything around you changes. We hope you enjoy it.”
