After nearly four and a half years since her debut album, Caylee Hammack is back with her second project, Bed Of Roses. Set for release on March 7, this 13-track album showcases the Georgia native’s talent for heartfelt storytelling, touching on themes of life, love, and loss. “We all have different experiences, but we also have similar heartbreaks,” the 30-year-old artist explains.
Hammack contributed to writing 12 of the album’s 13 tracks and collaborated on production with Dann Huff and John Osborne from Brothers Osborne. She describes the album’s theme by saying, “Your bed of roses is the bed you make – you get to decide how you spend your time and how you plant your garden. Good love is flowers that come back every year. Bad love, it’s just the thorn. Sometimes you got to till things up. You’ve got to work through things and it’s not going to be fun. And then one day, your friends come over and you sit as a family on the back porch in the garden. And when they compliment the roses near the gate or the cherry tomatoes speckled about in the pasta, you get the pleasure of realizing, ‘I grew that, I put love, time, and belief into something and it paid off.’”
The album’s title track, “Bed of Roses,” was inspired by a brief romance that never fully blossomed. Written by Hammack, Jeff Hyde, and Benjy Davis, this song is a vibrant anthem with a swampy groove and powerful vocals. It focuses on finding inner peace that a temporary partner cannot provide, and Hammack sees it as an invitation for listeners to enter her world. The music video for “Bed of Roses” is now available.
