CREED’s Triumphant Return Sparks New Musical Ventures and Fan Excitement

In a recent interview, CREED guitarist Mark Tremonti discussed the possibility of creating new music with his bandmates. He mentioned that reconnecting after so many years has been a major motivator for fans to attend their reunion tour in 2024. However, he acknowledged the need for new music to continue engaging audiences, saying they have all discussed the idea and just need to find the time to work on it. Tremonti noted that they are all busy with various projects, including Scott Stapp’s new solo record, his own upcoming TREMONTI album, and an ALTER BRIDGE record planned for 2025. He emphasized the importance of organizing their projects and gradually working on new CREED material.

In the summer of 2023, CREED announced their reunion after an 11-year break, with plans to perform for the first time in April 2024 during the sold-out Summer Of ’99 cruise and Summer Of ’99 And Beyond cruise. In May 2024, their “Greatest Hits” collection, originally released in 2004, was made available on vinyl and returned to the Billboard Top 200, along with other charts for hard rock and alternative albums. The compilation features tracks from their first three albums: “My Own Prison” (1997), “Human Clay” (1999), and “Weathered” (2001).

Last summer, CREED completed the “Summer Of ’99” tour, featuring bands like 3 DOORS DOWN, FINGER ELEVEN, SWITCHFOOT, FUEL, BIG WRECK, and DAUGHTRY. They continued their tour into arenas in November and December with 3 DOORS DOWN and MAMMOTH WVH in the U.S., and MAMMOTH WVH and FINGER ELEVEN in Canada. CREED began their first tour in 12 years on July 17, 2024, at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

In an August 2024 interview with Michael Christopher of Vanyaland, Tremonti shared that he has accumulated thousands of riffs and ideas for CREED’s next album, dating back to when he first started recording his ideas in junior high or high school. Earlier that month, he expressed to Guitar Interactive magazine his desire to create new music with CREED, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the band’s original sound while offering a fresh perspective. Tremonti highlighted the significance of big melodies and the elements that made CREED popular in the past, suggesting that they should avoid becoming too progressive with their new material.

With over 53 million albums sold worldwide, CREED remains a highly successful modern rock band. Thirty years into their career, they continue to grow in popularity. In late 2023, the Texas Rangers adopted “Higher” as their unofficial anthem, inspiring them to win their first World Series. In early 2024, the song featured in a prominent Paramount+ Super Bowl commercial and a NASCAR Daytona 500 campaign. CREED has also gained a new generation of fans through numerous TikTok videos featuring their music.
