Junkyard Frontman David Roach Battles Cancer, Fans Rally to Support

Junkyard has announced that their long-time frontman, David Roach, is fighting an aggressive form of cancer. The band has released several albums over the years, including “Junkyard” (1989), “Sixes, Sevens & Nines” (1991), “Joker” (1998), “XXX” (1998), “Shut Up – We’re Trying To Practice!” (live album) (2000), “Tried and True EP” (2003), “Put It On Ten and Pull The Knobs Off!” (2008), and “High Water” (2017).

On January 31, 2025, the following message was shared on Junkyard’s Facebook page:

“We all know and love David Roach—not just as our amazing singer, but as a true friend, inspiration, and fighter.

Currently, he is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life: an aggressive cancer diagnosis.

To help with the significant medical expenses, David is selling his plaque art. Every purchase, share, and donation can make a real difference in providing him with the care he needs.

In the coming months, we will offer our classic merchandise for purchase, with a portion of each sale going directly to David and Jennifer. We are also planning additional ways to help and will share those details in the upcoming months.

If you can contribute in any way—whether by buying his art, purchasing some merch, or simply spreading the word—it would mean the world to us.

Let’s rally behind him as we always have. Much love and gratitude to you all.”
