Kevin Durant Unimpressed by Kendrick Lamars Super Bowl Halftime Show

Kevin Durant, star of the Phoenix Suns, expressed a lack of enthusiasm for Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. When asked about Lamar’s performance on Monday, Feb. 10, Durant described the day as “boring” and said it held little interest for him.

“It meant nothing to me,” Durant told reporter Dana Scott. “No thoughts—I didn’t really pay attention to it, to be honest. It was a little boring day for a Super Bowl. The game got out of hand. The Super Bowl Halftime Show—I didn’t pay attention to it. I kinda skimmed through the whole thing, to be honest.”

Durant, a dedicated fan of the Washington Commanders, who were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship, and an outspoken supporter of Drake, found Super Bowl LIX not particularly appealing to his interests.

The Eagles decisively defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, the defending champions, with a 40-22 victory on Sunday, Feb. 9, in New Orleans, a score that belied the game’s true dynamics. Durant has maintained a close relationship with Drake over the years. He even earned an A&R credit on Drake’s 2023 “For All the Dogs” album and spent time with the artist in Toronto this past summer.

“Whenever Drake just wants to talk about life I’m there for him, and he just gave me that title,” Durant previously said regarding his A&R role with Drake.

It seems Drake may have shared some tracks from the upcoming $ome $exy $ongs 4 U collaboration project with PartyNextDoor with Durant before its release on Friday, Feb. 14. Durant praised the project, predicting that Drizzy and PND have a “classic otw” on their hands. Drake released another snippet from $$$4U and revealed the joint project’s snowy cover art on Tuesday, Feb. 11. The cover features Drake and PND in fur coats, set against the backdrop of the Absolute Towers in Mississauga.
