Jisoo has unveiled her debut solo mini-album, “Amortage,” on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, shortly after celebrating her 30th birthday. The album features four tracks: “Earthquake,” “Your Love,” “Tears,” and “Hugs & Kisses.” The songs were produced by Blissoo and The Wavys, with Jisoo co-writing all four tracks alongside Jordan Roman and other collaborators. The title “Amortage” is described as a blend representing “a montage of love.”
Jisoo made her solo debut in 2023 with the singles “Flower” and “All Eyes on Me,” but “Amortage” is her first full project outside of BLACKPINK. This follows solo projects from fellow members Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé. As part of BLACKPINK, Jisoo has contributed to nine songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and played a role in the group’s sophomore album, “Born Pink,” which made them the third South Korean act to top the Billboard 200. In 2023, BLACKPINK became the first Korean act to headline Coachella.
“Amortage” also marks Jisoo’s first project since signing a global label deal with Warner Records for her solo work in January. Upon announcing the deal, she expressed excitement about this new chapter in her music career, saying, “I’m excited about this new era and the continuation of my musical journey. I feel like I’m just getting started and I’d like to thank the Blinks for all of their love and support. This is just the beginning and I’m thrilled to kick off this seismic moment with Warner Records.”
