The portion of the 215 Beltway in Summerlin will be closed for a full day next week. The closure will begin at 9 p.m. on February 28 and end at 9 p.m. on March 1, affecting the stretch between Tropicana Avenue and Flamingo Road. This closure is necessary for crews to pour concrete decking for the ongoing construction of the Peace Way bridge over the beltway, which is part of a $19.8 million project. This project includes building the bridge to connect Peace Way at Fort Apache Road west of the 215 and Chessie Court east of the Beltway.
During the closure, southbound lane reductions will extend as far north as Town Center Drive, while northbound reductions will start as far south as Sunset Road. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use Fort Apache to access the 215 at Flamingo for northbound travel and Tropicana for southbound travel.
This section of the 215 was also closed for a weekend in December for the installation of girders for the bridge. Additional work on the project includes roadway rehabilitation on Peace Way between Hualapai Way and Cimarron Road, as well as improvements to curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. A new traffic signal is planned for the intersection of Hualapai and Peace ways.
The project began in June 2024 and is expected to be completed this summer.
