The Crew’s 30th Season: Championship Pursuit Amidst Challenges and Innovations

The Columbus Crew is entering its 30th season, seeking its fourth MLS championship. Despite recent challenges, including the loss of key players Cucho Hernández and Christian Ramírez, Columbus remains a strong contender, having won two MLS Cups and other titles since 2020. The team faces a difficult season after an unexpected playoff exit and will rely on head coach Wilfried Nancy for stability.

The Crew plans to strengthen midseason, with potential signings during the summer transfer window. Upcoming competitions include the Concacaf Champions Cup, Leagues Cup, and U.S. Open Cup. Lower.com Field is expanding, with additional seating and enhanced facilities.

Matchday changes include new gate logistics and food options, such as an ELT sandwich, pho brisket sandwich, and brisket mac bowl. Swenson’s, from Akron, will also open in the stadium.
