Heart Triumphantly Returns to the Stage

Heart kicked off their 2025 tour with a performance at the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas on Friday, marking the band’s return to the stage after their 2024 tour was halted for singer Ann Wilson’s cancer treatment.

The band delivered a 13-song set showcasing different phases of their career, along with select covers. They opened with the title track from 1980’s “Bebe Le Strange” and included ’70s hard rock classics like “Crazy on You,” “Magic Man,” and the set-ending “Barracuda.” Their mid- to late-’80s revival was highlighted by ballads such as “These Dreams,” “Alone,” and “What About Love.”

Notable moments included a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Going to California,” Nancy Wilson’s tribute to Eddie Van Halen with “4 Edward,” and an encore performance of “Sand” from the Wilson sisters’ ’90s side project Lovemongers.

The return of the Wilson sisters to the stage was a heartening sight for fans. The band had been about a month into their 2024 tour when it was abruptly paused for Ann Wilson’s health concerns.

“I underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous,” Ann Wilson stated after the tour was postponed. Though the initial surgery was successful, doctors recommended preventative chemotherapy. “Chemo is no joke,” she shared months later. “It takes a lot out of a person. And then there’s that two weeks of waiting around for test results, a form of mental torture. For anyone who’s been through that, I empathize big-time.”

In an interview with People before her return to performing, Ann Wilson expressed feeling “empowered” by her journey and thanked fans for their unwavering support through her challenges.

“Whether it’s around a health issue or not, they’ve always been there for me and for us,” she said. “And there’ve been ups and downs over all these 50 years. These people just seem to ride the waves along with us.”

Heart’s U.S. tour will continue with dates through April, including stops in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Boston, and New York. Squeeze and Cheap Trick will join them at various points during the tour.
