Beyoncé Makes Grammy History with Record-Breaking 99 Nominations

Beyoncé has made history once again at the Grammy Awards. Following the announcement of the 2025 Grammy Awards nominations on November 8, the Recording Academy confirmed that Beyoncé is now the most-nominated artist in the history of the Grammys with a total of 99 nominations. This year, she received 11 nominations, including several in the country music categories, marking her first-ever nominations in these areas. Her nominations include best country solo performance for “16 CARRIAGES,” best country duo/group performance with Miley Cyrus for “II MOST WANTED,” best country song for “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” best country album, best Americana performance for “YA YA,” and best pop duo/group performance for “LEVII’S JEANS” with Post Malone.

Beyoncé previously shared the record for most nominations with her husband, JAY-Z, both having 88 nominations. She is also the most-awarded artist in Grammy history with 32 wins. Her new record comes after some controversy at last year’s Grammy Awards, when JAY-Z criticized the Recording Academy for not awarding Beyoncé the album of the year despite her numerous nominations and wins in other categories.

JAY-Z had expressed his frustration with the Academy, noting that despite Beyoncé having more Grammys than anyone else, she has never won album of the year. He highlighted the inconsistency in their metrics, suggesting that it doesn’t add up for the most-awarded artist to not have won in such a significant category. Beyoncé had been nominated for album of the year four times, losing to Taylor Swift in 2010, Beck in 2015, Adele in 2017, and Harry Styles in 2023. JAY-Z’s comments reflected a broader sentiment about the subjective nature of music awards and the feeling of being overlooked or miscategorized.
