Biggie’s Legacy Lives On in New Estate Deal

The estate of The Notorious B.I.G. has officially struck a deal with Primary Wave Music, handing over a 50% stake in the late rapper’s music catalog, name, image, and likeness rights. The partnership was finalized weeks after Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, passed in late February 2025. She played a key role in the negotiations leading up to the deal.

This move gives Primary Wave shared control over Biggie’s iconic catalog, including classics from Ready to Die and Life After Death. The company will help expand the rapper’s legacy through licensing, branding, and future projects.

Voletta Wallace, a driving force behind preserving her son’s legacy, worked tirelessly to protect and grow his estate, ensuring Biggie’s story would continue to reach new generations.

The mission remains clear with Primary Wave now on board: to keep Biggie’s voice and influence alive for years.
