Cameron Diaz Returns to the Screen Inspired by Family and Friendship with Jamie Foxx

Cameron Diaz, reflecting on her decade-long break from acting, described it as “the best 10 years of my life.” The 52-year-old actress has reunited with Jamie Foxx for the Netflix film “Back In Action”, which is her first acting role since she portrayed Miss Hannigan in the 2014 Annie remake. Speaking on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show with Foxx, Diaz expressed her enjoyment of her break, saying it allowed her to be a mom, a wife, and to live a somewhat private life. She mentioned that returning to acting felt right for her family as they wanted a change.

Diaz, who debuted in the 1994 comedy The Mask, revealed that she turned down roles for years until the offers stopped coming, but she couldn’t resist working with Foxx again. Diaz explained, “If I’m going to leave my family for 10 hours a day, I want to do it with the most talented man in entertainment,” referring to Foxx, with whom she previously starred in Annie. She added that it’s a privilege to entertain people and that she didn’t want to miss the chance to continue bringing joy through her work.
