Columbus has been recognized as a Midwest standout in the 2024 ranking of America’s 100 Best Cities by Resonance Consultancy, a leading platform in tourism, real estate, and economic development.
The city ranked 34th overall, outperforming other major Ohio cities. The annual report evaluates metropolitan areas with populations of 500,000 or more based on factors such as livability, lovability, and prosperity.
According to Resonance, Columbus owes its success to a thriving arts scene, a growing tech industry, and contributions from Ohio State University graduates. The city also benefits from its strong presence on Fortune 500 lists, bolstered by companies like Nationwide and L Brands.
Columbus’ culinary offerings, historic landmarks, and scenic parks also played a significant role in its high ranking. The city earned accolades in 2024 as one of the nation’s Best New Restaurant hubs and a Best Crowd-Free Destination globally.
Highlights include the newly opened Hiraeth restaurant in the Short North, The Junto hotel in Franklinton, and Quarry Trails Metro Park in Dublin, which continue to elevate Columbus’ reputation as a destination city.
