Drew Carey Spins Funky Jams as “DJ Blender” After Phish’s New Year’s Eve Concert

Drew Carey, known for his newfound love of Phish, has taken his fandom to the next level by DJing an afterparty for the band’s New Year’s Eve concert. Dubbed “DJ Blender,” the event took place at Hill Country Barbecue in New York City, following Phish’s fourth and final show of their annual New Year’s Eve run at Madison Square Garden.

Sharing the stage with Phish Radio personality Tad Cautious and DJ Cooley, the Price Is Right host treated fans to a set of funky jams while sporting a humorous t-shirt that read, “I Don’t Know the Price of Anything.” In fan-captured footage, Carey was spotted spinning Lettuce’s 2018 track Sam Huff’s Flying Raging Machine, further cementing his status as a beloved figure within the Phish community.

Carey’s journey to becoming one of the most prominent Phish fans began last April when he attended the band’s show at the Sphere in Las Vegas. After declaring he’d “stick [his] dick in a blender” to see them again, the band humorously acknowledged the remark by gifting him a signed blender. Carey later praised Phish’s performance at the Sphere, claiming it made U2’s show at the same venue look like “a bar band.”

Phish fans can next catch the band during their annual run of shows in Riviera Maya, Mexico, later this month. Meanwhile, frontman Trey Anastasio is gearing up for a 20-date solo acoustic tour this spring.

Drew Carey’s transformation into “DJ Blender” proves that his enthusiasm for the jam band knows no bounds, making him a standout figure in the Phish fandom.
