In 2024, Ella Langley experienced a remarkable year musically. Her collaboration with Riley Green, “You Look Like You Love Me,” won Musical Event of the Year at the CMA Awards in November, significantly boosting her career. Before the awards, we spoke to the Alabama native about any “redneck” habits she still maintains despite her life now appearing more glamorous. “I just bought a pellet gun because I have a rodent issue, and the neighborhood won’t address it,” she explained. She recounted an incident where her dog was sprayed by a skunk, which frustrated her.
Langley is not hesitant to handle things herself, and when another animal entered her yard, she had enough. “There was a possum on the fence the other night, and it scared me so much,” she admitted. “I nearly had an accident, so I ordered a pellet gun to deal with it on my own.” Langley humorously mentioned that she might need to keep her new acquisition a secret. “I’m going to handle it myself… but don’t tell the neighborhood.” Following the success of “You Look Like You Love Me” and the evident onstage chemistry between Langley and Green, rumors arose about a possible romantic relationship. Both artists deny these claims. “Riley was probably the first famous person I ever met,” Langley remarked, avoiding the rumors. “He played at the same bars I did, and it’s great to see people from Alabama succeeding!”
