Eminem’s longtime spokesperson has condemned the recent circulation of leaked songs from the rapper’s vault, calling them “unfinished material” never intended for release.
“These leaked songs were studio efforts never meant for public consumption … demos, experiments, and ideas that are dated and not relevant so many years later,” spokesperson Dennis Dennehy told Billboard. “The latest in a line of unfinished material released against artists’ will and without their permission.”
The Detroit rapper has not officially released new music in 2023, but fans have discovered several tracks that have gone viral on social media. These include collaborations with longtime partners 50 Cent and Dr. Dre, as well as an alleged diss track from 2003 targeting Suge Knight and Ja Rule.
The collection of leaks has reportedly grown to 30 tracks, featuring additional collaborations with Slaughterhouse, Anderson .Paak, and the late Nate Dogg.
One song, titled “Smack You,” has sparked significant buzz online. In the track, Eminem appears to hold Suge Knight responsible for the deaths of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. “I’m holding Suge responsible for the deaths of the two greatest rappers to ever grace the face of this planet,” Eminem raps. Knight, who was in the car with Shakur the night he was fatally shot, has denied any involvement in either rapper’s death.
The identity of the leaker remains unknown. Aftermath producer Fredwreck addressed the situation in a since-deleted post on X, warning, “FYI to the criminal who’s leaking Eminem’s music. We will find you.”
Eminem has yet to comment on the leaks. The rapper last released new music in July with The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), which marked his 10th consecutive No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.
