Lady Gaga is starting 2025 on a high note. The pop star’s duet with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Gaga thanked fans in a heartfelt TikTok video posted Tuesday, Jan. 7.
“I am so incredibly grateful that my song ‘Die With a Smile’ with Bruno Mars, my friend, is No. 1 on the Hot 100,” Gaga said, speaking directly to fans.
The 13-time Grammy winner reflected on her career milestones in the video. “I can’t believe I’ve had two No. 1s in three different decades that I’ve been releasing my music in this profession,” she said. “I’m so honored to be an artist and to have had your ears for this long. Thank you for listening and dancing and making your art along with mine.”
“Die With a Smile” climbed to the top of the Hot 100 five months after its release on Aug. 16. The track previously reached No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, where it held the top spot for eight weeks.
With this latest success, Gaga has now earned six Hot 100 No. 1 hits. As she noted in her video, she joins Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson as the only artists to achieve two chart-toppers in three different decades—the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s.
“I’m so grateful,” Gaga said in the video, smiling. “It’s 2025, and I have a No. 1 song—it’s pretty wild.”
Next month, Gaga will release her seventh studio album, which will include “Die With a Smile” on the tracklist. The album, led by the single “Disease,” is set to arrive in February.
“I’m so excited that this song is on my new album,” Gaga said, wrapping up her TikTok message. “I’m so excited for you to hear what more I have in store for you.”
