HARDY and his wife, Caleigh, are expecting their first child!

The country singer first shared the exciting news during a No. 1 celebration for Kenny Chesney’s hit “Take Her Home.” While discussing the song’s creation with co-writers Hunter Phelps and Zach Abend, HARDY revealed how the story behind the song resonated deeply with Hunter, who was starting a family at the time. He then surprised the audience by announcing that he and Caleigh are about to experience the same joy.

“At the time, it was really cool for Hunter because the song’s big emotional payoff is the bridge, where he’s bringing home his baby girl and feeling all that excitement and fear. It’s wild because Hunter was living that moment, and now Caleigh and I are about to do the same,” HARDY shared with the intimate group, who kept the news private until the couple decided to announce it publicly.

On Tuesday, October 15, Caleigh took to Instagram to officially share the news, posting a heartwarming photoshoot of the soon-to-be parents on a picturesque farm. Caleigh looked radiant in a floor-length, off-the-shoulder dress, cradling her belly, while HARDY posed next to her in blue jeans and a long-sleeve shirt. Some of the photos also featured the couple proudly holding up a sonogram, capturing their excitement for this new chapter in their lives.

FROM Madeleine O’Connell:

Their love story began in April of 2018 when HARDY slid into the University of Mississippi alum’s DMs. They started talking about different aspects of their lives and finding common ground within their roots and eventually got to meet for the first time when HARDY was playing a show near her school. Sparks instantly began to fly between the two of them, and Caleigh knew he was the one for her.

“Once we met each other, there really was no one else,” she previously told People. “We never entertained anyone else. It was just so easy.”

“I loved her after the third time that we ever hung out,” HARDY added. “It was the realest thing I had ever experienced. I actually told her I loved her at Stagecoach, out in the crowd.”

They dates for several years before the “wait in the truck” singer got down on one knee and proposed in August of 2021 at the same venue where they met for the very first time – the Lyric Theatre in Oxford, Mississippi.

“I’m not her boyfriend anymore,” HARDY wrote alongside a photo he shared on social media at the time. The caption was inspired by lyrics from his song, “Boyfriend,” which appears on his critically acclaimed debut album, A ROCK.

Caleigh also announced the exciting news on her Instagram page with a series of pictures that were taken outside of the live music venue. “We’re getting married!!!” she wrote with an engagement ring emoji.
