Hosea Helps, a nonprofit organization in Atlanta, has been a source of support for families in need for over fifty years. This year, their annual Christmas dinner drive-thru event provided meals to 500 families, including Susan Goode, who describes the organization as essential to her survival. Living on just $23 in food stamps each month, Goode struggles to afford basic items such as eggs, milk, and hamburgers.
The mission of Hosea Helps extends beyond providing meals. The CEO, Awodele Omilami, mentioned that the organization also addresses urgent needs like homelessness prevention and utility assistance by assessing attendees’ situations. In addition to meals, Hosea Helps aims to ensure that 800 children receive gifts on Christmas Day. Omilami emphasized the need for volunteer drivers to deliver these toys. On Christmas Eve, volunteers will continue the tradition of helping the homeless by distributing meals throughout Atlanta.
