Following Trump’s appointment, several Hollywood figures, including Shonda Rhimes and musician Ben Folds, have resigned from their roles connected to the Kennedy Center. Rhimes highlighted her resignation on Instagram, quoting John F. Kennedy on the importance of artistic freedom. Ben Folds also announced his departure, emphasizing his appreciation for the musicians and staff he worked with during his tenure.
The Kennedy Center has also announced a new board membership that includes Trump appointees, replacing trustees appointed by previous Democratic administrations.
