Jessie James Decker’s Harrowing Escape from Southern California Wildfires

Jessie James Decker has shared that she is safe after narrowly escaping the destructive fires sweeping across Southern California. Through an Instagram story, the singer and entrepreneur detailed her experience over the last day, noting that she was working on a project in Santa Monica when she noticed thick black smoke looming over the beach sky. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Decker and her team understood the intensity of the fire affecting the Pacific Palisades region.

Earlier, Decker had posted footage from the beach, where alarms were ringing and planes were seen gathering ocean water to help battle the fire. Observing the rapid spread of the blaze, she and her team decided to conclude their work and returned to their hotel, only to find it in a state of disarray.

“When we walked into the lobby, it was crowded,” Decker recounted. “The hotel went from being relatively empty to full of people lining up at the front desk. Families, pets, and children were everywhere, having evacuated their homes in search of safety.” Witnessing families seeking refuge confirmed her decision to end her trip to Los Angeles and secure a flight out of the area. She realized that leaving would allow others in more dire need to use the hotel rooms.

She managed to board the earliest flight and is now safely with her family in Tennessee. Upon returning, she expressed relief and gratitude for being able to hold her family close. “I got home and immediately hugged everyone. I’m heartbroken for the city and the people affected,” she shared. Decker remains hopeful and prays for the safety of all those impacted by the fires.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the Palisades Fire ignited near 1190 North Piedra Morada Dr. with winds exacerbating the situation, causing the flames to spread rapidly. Tens of thousands have been evacuated, and a state of emergency has been declared by Gov. Gavin Newsom. According to Fire Chief Anthony Marrone, significant damage has occurred, with many structures destroyed and some fatalities reported. Efforts to control the blaze are ongoing, but the fire remains uncontained. Authorities urge residents to be ready to evacuate as necessary, with updates provided by local and national media.
