Judge Mathis Hit With Lawsuit: Allegedly Threatening To Shoot A City Worker

The incident involving Ricardo Acosta and television personality Judge Mathis reportedly took place in July 2023, as detailed in a lawsuit Acosta filed. According to Acosta, he was working near Mathis’ home when Mathis encountered a dump truck obstructing his garage exit. Acosta claims Mathis began shouting at him to move the truck and became so upset that he positioned himself behind it, despite warnings about the potential danger due to the incline. Acosta alleges that Mathis made threatening comments before returning to his car and driving away. Mathis’ attorney, Anahita Sedaghatfar, disputes Acosta’s account, labeling it an inaccurate attempt to extract money from Mathis. Sedaghatfar argues that Acosta’s claims are unsubstantiated and that the LAPD did not investigate the matter, indicating a lack of merit. She stated that if Acosta continues with the lawsuit, they will not only defend against it but also file counterclaims for defamation.
