Karen Huger Sentenced to 2 Years In Prison for DUI After Maserati Crash

Karen Huger, a star of “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” has been sentenced to two years in prison after being charged with a DUI in March 2024. However, she is expected to serve only one year, as one year of the sentence was suspended. Huger must also pay a $2,900 fine and is prohibited from driving for a year after her release. Additionally, she will be on supervised probation with an interlock system for five years.

The charges followed a single-vehicle accident involving Huger’s Maserati, which collided with several signs after crossing a median. Huger was found guilty of multiple offenses, including driving under the influence and negligent driving, but was acquitted of reckless driving. She attributed the incident to the grief of losing her parents, particularly around Mother’s Day.

This incident is not Huger’s first alcohol-related offense, as she has had three prior incidents. Despite the legal issues, she continues her television career, having appeared on a new CBS drama and being a longstanding cast member of “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” Huger recently entered a private recovery program, which prevented her from attending the RHOP season 9 reunion. Her representative expressed support for her decision to seek recovery.
