This album is their ninth overall and the sixth with original vocalist Jesse Leach, who rejoined in 2012. Jesse mentioned on social media that the song was inspired by his wife and their connection, describing it as a deep love that connects to a higher power. He expressed excitement about the album, emphasizing the effort and dedication that went into its creation.

The track listing for “This Consequence” includes:
1. Abandon Us
2. Discordant Nation
3. Aftermath
4. Forever Aligned
5. I Believe
6. Where It Dies
7. Collusion
8. The Fall Of Us

10. Requiem

In March 2024, guitarist Joel Stroetzel discussed the progress of the recording sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2019’s “Atonement” album. He mentioned that all tracking was completed, and they were in the process of piecing everything together. Joel noted that they recorded more songs than needed, which will require decisions on what to include in the final album.

Joel also addressed Jesse Leach’s challenges with the new album, explaining that Jesse revisited some vocal parts to capture the desired growls and sounds. Stroetzel shared excitement about the album, describing it as heavier with fast songs while maintaining the band’s signature melody.

Jesse Leach has spoken about the personal challenges he faced during the creation of the album, highlighting the deep personal connection he has with his music. He expressed satisfaction with the final product and praised producer Adam D for his crucial role in the process.

The band is set to embark on a North American tour in March 2025, their first since late 2022. The tour will feature support from KUBLAI KHAN TX, FIT FOR A KING, and FROZEN SOUL, starting on March 5 in Nashville and concluding on April 12 in Portland, Maine.
