Kylie Minogue has achieved a remarkable milestone, securing her 10th Official Number 1 album in the UK today with *Tension II*.
This album is the sequel to her chart-topping record *Tension*, released in 2023, and joins her impressive lineup of UK Number 1 albums: *Kylie* (1988), *Enjoy Yourself* (1989), *Greatest Hits* (1992), *Fever* (2001), *Aphrodite* (2010), *Golden* (2018), *Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection* (2019), *DISCO* (2020), and *Tension* (2023).
As the only female artist to achieve chart-topping LPs across five consecutive decades, Kylie now ranks alongside ABBA, Coldplay, Queen, and Michael Jackson, all of whom have also secured 10 UK Number 1 albums.
*Tension II* not only tops the Official Vinyl Albums Chart but also leads the Official Record Store Chart, marking it as the biggest-selling album in independent UK record shops over the past week.
Rag’n’Bone Man continues his success with his third consecutive Top 5 record, *What Do You Believe In?*. The Uckfield-born singer-songwriter previously hit number one with *Human* (2017) and *Life By Misadventure* (2021).
Following the release of its deluxe edition, Gracie Abrams’ former Number 1 album *The Secret of Us* makes a comeback to the Top 10, rising 29 spots to number 7. Meanwhile, Australian electro-pop group Confidence Man makes their Albums Chart debut with their third studio release, *3AM (LA LA LA)*, landing at number 9.
In a somber note, One Direction’s albums return to the UK Top 40 as fans grieve the loss of Liam Payne, who tragically passed away last week at 31. All five of the group’s studio albums re-enter the Top 40, led by their 2013 chart-topper *Midnight Memories*, which saw a 517% increase in combined UK sales and streams, returning to the Top 40 for the first time in a decade at number 13.
Following that are *Made In The A.M.* (21), *FOUR* (22), *Take Me Home* (25), and their debut album *Up All Night* (38).
Our thoughts are with Liam’s family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.
