Las Vegas Air Taxi Service Plans Raiders Stadium Helipad for Quick Game Day Access

A company linked with the Las Vegas Spaceport has purchased land for an air taxi helipad, dubbed Raiders Station, near Allegiant Stadium. This site aims to provide quick transportation for people attending games and concerts at the stadium. If approved by the Federal Aviation Administration, UpWin Air Taxi plans to transport passengers to a location within walking distance of the stadium.

Located on the south side of Russell Road, west of Polaris Avenue, the site will feature four landing pads and a Raiders-themed welcoming center. According to Robert Lauer, CEO of UpWin, this initiative is part of a broader air mobility revolution designed to alleviate traffic congestion and redefine transportation in Las Vegas.

Lauer estimates that each flight would last about three minutes and cost $30 per person. The project includes developing a network of landing pads across the Las Vegas Valley, targeting locations such as luxury hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Future plans also involve offering emergency air ambulance services and connecting flights to hospitals and the Las Vegas Executive Airport, formerly known as the Spaceport.

Initially, the service will use standard helicopters, with the potential to transition to electric-powered helicopters once they receive certification. The air taxis would operate on designated “sky highways” around 500 feet above the ground, whereas current air tour helicopters flying along the Strip operate at approximately 1,000 feet.
