Lizzo Returns with New Music and Concerts

Lizzo’s night out takes a dramatic turn in the high-energy video for her comeback single, “Love in Real Life.” Released Friday, Feb. 28, the song marks her return two years after her last solo single. The uptempo pop-rock track features lyrics such as “Give me something with a little tempo/ Hey, ho, hey, ho/ Give me something I can throw it back for/ By the end of the world, by the end of the night.”

In the Colin Tilley-directed video, Lizzo starts off getting ready in a pink bustier and feather boa before heading out in a vintage Cadillac. She and a friend then hit the club for a dance-off. The scene shifts as Lizzo changes into a leather bustier and hot pants, but the vibe turns eerie as friendly dancers become aggressive. The video channels classic Michael Jackson vibes, with Lizzo escaping zombie-like dancers on cobblestone streets for a final dance showdown.

“Love in Real Life” is the first single from Lizzo’s upcoming fifth album, set to release this summer. It follows her contribution to the 2023 “Barbie” soundtrack.

To celebrate the release, Lizzo will perform three intimate shows: March 12 at Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theater, March 16 at New York’s Irving Plaza, and March 18 at Minneapolis’ First Avenue. Information on pre-sale sign-ups for the shows is available online.
