In August, Manson released two new songs, “Raise The Red Flag” and “As Sick As The Secrets Within,” followed by a third track, “Sacrilegious,” in September. On August 3, Manson performed “As Sick As The Secrets Within” live for the first time during his headlining concert at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. He returned to the stage on August 2 for his first live performance since before the pandemic, opening for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH’s summer arena tour. The concert at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania marked Manson’s first proper gig since finishing his fall 2019 headlining tour.
Manson’s new touring band includes returning members Tyler Bates on guitar and Gil Sharone on drums, along with new additions Reba Meyers on guitar and Matt Montgomery on bass. “As Sick As The Secrets Within,” recorded and co-produced with Tyler Bates, is Manson’s first release through his new deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The partnership with Nuclear Blast was announced in May, following rumors of a completed new album. Before this release, Manson hadn’t put out new music since his 2020 album “We Are Chaos.”
Manson’s 30-date arena and amphitheater tour as the supporting act for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH concluded on September 19 in Houston, Texas. Over the past three years, Manson has faced several court battles and accusations of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse by several women, including “Westworld” star Evan Rachel Wood. Manson has denied all allegations and has countersued some of his accusers. Several abuse lawsuits against him have been dismissed.
Before starting the tour with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in August, Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, had been off the road since August 18, 2019, the final date of the “Twins of Evil: Hell Never Dies” joint tour with Rob Zombie. In 2022, Manson confirmed he was dropped by his record label, Loma Vista Recordings, and talent agency CAA following accusations of sexual assault. He has consistently denied these allegations, asserting that his relationships have always been consensual. Manson’s first release with Loma Vista was “The Pale Emperor” in 2015. “We Are Chaos” debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart.
