Megan Thee Stallion and PSY Partner to Launch Apple TV+ Series

Megan Thee Stallion and “Gangnam Style” star PSY are teaming up for a new Apple TV+ reality music competition series called KPOPPED.

According to a release announcing the eight-episode series, each episode will feature Western artists reimagining one of their biggest hits in collaboration with top-tier K-pop idols. The performances will be judged by a live audience in Seoul, who will select the winner of the best “K-popped” song.

In addition to serving as an executive producer, Megan will perform her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Savage” on the show. American Idol judge and pop icon Lionel Richie will also executive produce alongside Moira Ross, Miky Lee, Greg Foster, Harry H.K. Shin, and Jake Hong. Ki-woong Kim will produce for CJ ENM Co., Ltd. Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, and David Tibballs will executive produce for Eureka Productions, a Fremantle company, along with Bruce Eskowitz.

The show marks Apple’s latest venture into music competition programming. It follows the 2023 series My Kind of Country, co-created by Reese Witherspoon and Kacey Musgraves and hosted by Mickey Guyton, Jimmie Allen, and Orville Peck. Last year, Apple also released the docuseries K-Pop Idols, a six-part series following the careers of K-pop acts Blackswan, Jessi, and Cravity.

A premiere date for KPOPPED has not yet been announced.

This weekend, Megan will perform at the invite-only FanDuel/Spotify Super Bowl party on Friday, Feb. 7, alongside Blink-182 and DJ Pee .Wee (Anderson .Paak). Kendrick Lamar will headline the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday, Feb. 9.
