Nate Smith revealed a personal aspect of his life on Monday, February 10, by sharing his weight loss journey with fans. Accompanying a side-by-side photo comparing his current appearance to a past image, the “World on Fire” singer announced he has lost 50 pounds.
“50 lbs lighter, baby,” Smith wrote, acknowledging his brother Kyle Smith, who has a diet cookbook, for his assistance. “Shoutout to @tastyshreds for the help! I love you little brother so much.”
This achievement has been in the works for a year. Before the 2024 CMA Awards, Smith expressed to Taste of Country’s Evan Paul his pride in his progress.
“I’ve lost some weight, and that’s my favorite thing of the year (2024),” he stated last fall. “If you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything.”
Smith humorously noted a benefit of his weight loss: “I don’t sweat as much when I’m tying my boots.”
On Instagram Stories, Smith clarified how he achieved his weight loss, saying, “I didn’t do Ozempic, I didn’t do anything weird like that.” He attributed his success to a calorie deficit, explaining, “It turns out if you eat less food, you actually lose weight. Putting the fork down and just going for it is how you do it.”
His brother has been instrumental in this process by creating low-calorie, high-protein meals for him.
The comments section on Smith’s post celebrating his milestone is filled with support and congratulations, including messages from fellow country artists.
“Dude, you are always a stud, proud of you man,” Brett Eldredge commented.
Smith is currently on his Through the Smoke Tour.
