New Year…Is the Right Time for Resolutions

According to online research, New Year’s resolutions tend to be more popular among younger age groups. For instance, approximately 31% of individuals aged 30 to 49 report making resolutions. In contrast, only about 21% of adults aged 50 and older have made such commitments. This suggests that younger adults are more inclined to set goals or make changes at the start of the year compared to their older counterparts.  Whether or not you’ve made New Year’s resolutions or goals, January is an optimal time to rechart and revise areas of your life and offer several benefits that can help improve your life.

They provide clarity and focus by setting specific things you want to accomplish or incorporate, giving clear direction for the year ahead. Resolutions also boost motivation and accountability, as committing to change sparks an internal drive, and sharing goals with others can help keep us on track. Furthermore, they promote personal growth, as striving to achieve something new can increase confidence and broaden our experiences. Many resolutions, especially those focused on health and well-being, contribute to a healthier lifestyle. Finally, the start of a new year brings a sense of renewal, offering a fresh start and the opportunity to move forward with hope and determination.  So go for it!  With Christ all things are possible.  (Matthew 19:26)
