Our Top Five Masters of the Electric Strings

We’re just a few weeks away from our special “The Death Defying MOES – Masters of the Electric Strings,” and we decided to put together our top five list of favorites. This may not fit the bill Red has for the show, but this is a good start.

  • 5 – Jimi Hendrix

Ah, Jimi Hendrix, the guy who made setting your guitar on fire look like a necessary part of every performance. It’s comforting to know that while the rest of us struggle to tune our guitars, he was busy redefining the laws of physics with his solos.

  • 4 – Prince

Prince: the artist formerly known as the guy who could outplay you on guitar while simultaneously wearing heels and controlling an entire band. If you thought multitasking was tough, try doing it in purple sequins with a guitar solo so good it becomes a national treasure.

  • 3 – Eric Clapton

Legend has it that Eric Clapton sold his soul to the guitar gods for his otherworldly skills, but rumors are he got a refund on the singing part. When Clapton plays, even the guitars weep in pure admiration—or maybe just jealousy.

  • 2 – Jimmy Page

Jimmy Page, the man who made playing the guitar with a violin bow a thing, because why not? Clearly, if you can’t decide between classical and rock, just blend them together and create a whole new genre of pure epicness.

  • 1 – Eddie Van Halen

Eddie Van Halen didn’t just play the guitar; he turned it into a one-man band. Who needs a full orchestra when you can tap, shred, and dive-bomb your way through a rock anthem with a single instrument?

That’s just some of our MOES, we can’t wait to hear Red’s take. You’ll hear it all very soon on Roadhouse Rock

Yes, a good start, but… How about Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen, John 5, Abasi, Govan, Henson, Dale, Paul, Bonamassa, SRV, Johnson, buckethead…. and Taylor Swift 🙂
OK, OK I get it… so not all radio-friendly, classic rock. But we need an hour of a playlist like that.
