According to Cherry Red Records’ website, Tigertailz was formed in Cardiff, Wales, in the mid-1980s, with Steevi Jaimz on vocals, Jay Pepper on lead guitar, Pepsi Tate on bass, and Ace Finchum on drums. Their debut album “Young And Crazy,” released in 1987, was recorded after signing with Music For Nations, a significant heavy metal label. The album is considered a classic of 1980s British glam and hair metal. Known as Wales’s answer to Mötley Crüe, the band gained popularity with songs like “Shoot To Kill” and “Livin’ Without You” and garnered attention in rock and metal magazines such as Kerrang! and Sounds.

The band achieved commercial success with the 1990 album “Bezerk,” which reached the Top 40 album charts, driven by the single “Heaven” and the popular track “Love Bomb Baby.” This album marked a significant lineup change with Kim Hooker replacing Steevi Jaimz as the lead vocalist. The third disc of the set is a collection of rarities and non-album cuts, starting with the “Shoot To Kill” EP and including live versions of “Nine Livez” and “She’z Too Hot.”

In December 2022, Tigertailz experienced a resurgence, performing with Steel Panther and releasing new singles. The band’s song “Love Bomb Baby” regained attention when it was featured in James Gunn’s HBO series “Peacemaker.” The band continues to showcase their versatility with recent releases in 2024, demonstrating their dedication to their music beyond their glam rock image.
