Robin Thicke’s Album ‘Something Else’ Gets Certified Gold by RIAA!

Robin Thicke’s 2008 album *Something Else* has achieved Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), signifying over 500,000 equivalent units sold in the United States.

Released on September 30, 2008, *Something Else* debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and spent 28 weeks on the chart. The album featured singles like “Magic” and “The Sweetest Love,” both of which reached the No. 2 position on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

This Gold certification is Robin Thicke’s first RIAA award since his 2013 hit “Blurred Lines,” which was certified Diamond in 2018 for selling over 10 million units.

*Something Else* holds a special place in Thicke’s discography, marking a period of personal and artistic growth. Reflecting on the album, he stated that it expresses “the celebration I’m going through and the healing I want to give to people,” addressing themes of change, hope, and societal issues prevalent at the time.

Robin Thicke continues to evolve as an artist, with his recent single “I Know What To Do” leading up to his ninth studio album, scheduled for release on Valentine’s Day 2025.
