The Hot 10 Countdown for 11/9/2024

Here we are with another Hot 10 Countdown recap. This week we examine Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart dated for November 9, 2024. Let me just say, there are some big jumps and a semi-new number one. So, let’s get going!

We start with a song that, funny enough, jumped nearly 30 notches! From 43 to 10 is Tyler, The Creator’s “Noid,” I mentioned in a story earlier this week about all 14 songs on his newest album “Chromakopia” entered the Hot 100 chart this past week. You can read more here.

Staying put at 9, is Sabrina Carpenter’s “Taste,” Carpenter has said she wanted the song to feel like a guilty pleasure, and with its addictive beat and lyrics about irresistible attraction, it’s easy to see why fans feel that way too!

Unfortunately, Morgan Wallen’s number one “Love Somebody,” has dropped seven notches to 8 this week. Spending one week at the top spot, his third as a solo act. Wallen wrote it while reflecting on the balance between love and the fast-paced, sometimes lonely life of touring.

Number 7 brings us another debut this week from “Chromakopia,” it’s St. Chroma. The title itself, “Chroma,” hints at vivid colors or a spectrum, likely referencing Tyler’s vibrant approach to music and visuals. Fans speculate that the song explores themes of artistic expression and self-discovery, considering Tyler’s evolution as an artist.

Tyler moves Teddy Swims up to 6 with “Lose Control,” He once said he loves making music that doesn’t fit neatly into one box—just like his look, with all those tattoos and a voice that can melt hearts!

Swims moves Post Malone and Wallen to number 5 with “I Had Some Help,” It’s a perfect blend of his heartfelt and humorous sides! Maybe that’s why it was the song of the summer for 2024.

The coffee is strong as “Espresso” moves to number 4 this week. Carpenter has even joked about being a “caffeine fiend” and presents this as an anthem for her love of coffee.

Leading the top three is Billie Eilish with “BIRDS OF A FEATHER,” One thing I didn’t know about her, she learned to sing by copying the voices of cartoon characters, particularly those from The Simpsons! Good to know.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars enter the number two spot with “Die With a Smile,” The vintage-ness of the song was not a mistake, they both love the vintage sounds of the old days. Lady Gaga is more glam rock and 80s pop, Bruno is more 70s funk and soul. Put it together, and you get a hit!

Now for the number one spot. Back for a 16th week at the top is Shaboozey with “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” It just needed a one-week hiatus to return to its historic run on the top of the chart. But how long can he stay number one this go-round? Tune in or log on next week to find out.
